I can post about the things I want (and need) for the new appartment. Mostly IKEA-ish as always..

A reading lamp, for beside the bed. That stands on the floor. I’m thinking LERSTA in black or maybe KVART in red. In addition to this, I need a lamp by the work table. And the GLOBAL work lamp (in black) seems to fit that need.

I also need a bedside table. Since I don’t like any of the tables in the “bedside table”-section, I found out that the MIKAEL drawer unit can work well. I’m thinking in red/white or maybe black/white. It has wheels, which is practical

I really NEED a chair. But I don’t know which. I might go for the BONNY swivel chair. I need one with wheels and an adjustable height.

I also want this:

which is a water boiler, that filtrates the water, and only warms the water it pours out. So it saves electricity in the sense that you don’t warm more water than you need. But it’s quite expensive, at 900NOK, which is 175USD. And when you can get one for 80NOK / 15USD instead, I doubt I really will buy this. It looks good though :)

Just googled “expedit desk”, and found the first picture I’ve seen of an IKEA expedit desk. And it’s great!

Just check out this: (click the picture to see more pictures on the blog I found it)

I just LOVE this kind of craft spaces. Wish I had space for something like this :)

I’m not moving until August, mostly because of my boyfriend who’s still living here, but my Dad and I went to Oslo again on Thursday the 12th to put up the things we had bought last time.

The place is just 183square feet (17m2), and that includes a bathroom, a kitchen and a small storage room. So it goes without saying that it’s not much room.

I was happy though, because with all the things put up, it looked much bigger than when it was empty. So here follows some pictures of the things:

Oslo

Bed: Ikea; Sultan Svaneholm 90×200cm
Matress pad: Sultan Timan 90×200 cm
Expedit shelf with kassett storage, and a couple of Lekman boxes (not shown)
Sylling extra bed is also shown
And a corner of the desk, which is shown better below:

Oslo

So this is Vika Amon 150×75cm, two Vika Curry legs, and a Vika Tore shelf unit.
In front of the window,so I can look out of it when eating or doing homework.

(I know I need to get a chair!)

Oslo

Here you can see the kitchen part. Also the Benno bookshelf, with a phone in it :)

It’s not very big, but it works, and I have my own kitchen and bathroom. The thing I fear is that I’ll be all isolated, and that a shared kitchen would be better for me. But I’ll get what I can take :) The place I’ll live is a nice place, with designed greenish areas around the housing units. I live in the 4th floor, which is good. I could choose between this and a couple on the 2nd floor, but they didn’t feel right.

I need a couple of more trips until I can live there, because I still have a lot of things here. All my clothes are still here (I need them here before I move!) etc. But in 4 days, my friend Sara and I are going to Oslo to watch Jon Bon Jovi at a concert. And we’re sleeping here. So we had to get it ready before that :)

More updates will definitely come later

Okay, so I was at IKEA yesterday. First we drove to Bjølsen student housing, and got the keys. The apartment was smaller than I’d imagined, but it’ll be okay :) Then we drove to IKEA and bought a LOT of things :)

Benno white cd shelf

expedit bookshelf + capita legs.
(I’m gonna flip this 90degrees)

lekman box x2 for the expedit

Sultan Svaneholm mattress

Sultan Timan over mattress

Sultann feet 20cm

Vika Amon 150×75cm

Vika Tore shelfing unit for one side of the table.

two of these Vika Curry legs, for the other side of the table

Sylling extra bed.

Fniss paper basket (just to have something, it cost next to nothing.

Fira shelfing thing

Jäll drying thing

2x this kassett magazine holder

kassett mini shelfing, one of each

kvot - thing.

I also bought a lot of small things, that I don’t bother putting up here, because it’s not really interesting AT ALL. Things like plastis ice cube trays, an egg divider thing, bread knife, dish towels, regular towels, whisks+++

This all cost me 6700NOK, which is $1300 or 840€
The bed was the most expensive thing, and was about half of the expenses itself. But a nice bed is important.

We didn’t get to do anything with the boxes after carrying them up to the apartment. Just drove home, because it was really late, and a working day today. This means we might have to go to Oslo again on Saturday to put things together. I was also stupid and dint’t take any photos. I’ll do that when we put things up. Now it’s just in boxes and plastic :)

Since yesterday’s last post, I found out that the kassette drawers and magazine holders fit perfectly into the expedit. And I found that if I get the expedit desk, it can be used as dining table, work table and craft table, with quick access to the craft items.

And if I get this, than I’m thinking I can maybe buy the Bestå book shelf in 60×192cm. That way I can use the interior things that go with it (the inreda system) and have book ends, the charging system, drawers with dividers ++

I’m still not sure anything will fit, but I’ve just sent a mail to the student housing landlords, to try and get some measurements.

But anyway:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Happy birthday to me!

I’m thinking of having this Alve drawer unit in the bathroom, in the corner between the toilet and sink. But I’m not sure if it’s enough space. Then I could stored makeup, socks, underwear ++ in those drawers.

Another idea is this corner shelf unit for towels ++ This is almost 1000NOK cheaper than the drawer unit, so I might go for that. But that means I need to find somewhere else to keep the makeup, socks and underwear. And I don’t exactly have unlimited space to furnish :) I need to be smart.

the other

Alve

Here’s pictures of the two..

And I’m thinking of maybe getting a loft bed, if it’s tall enough under the roof. That way, I can have some sofa-thing underneath the bed. And some table I can use for both schoolwork and dining, along the window maybe. Plus some tablething in front of the sofa (I might even get a sofa bed. Or the “meldal” daybed.

We’ll see. It’s not easy finding out what to buy when you don’t even have the measurements of the rooms. And I know I have to find something on the 4th of June, because I’m going to Ikea with my dad then, after having recieved the keys. And then, the 18th, Sara and I will sleep there, after being at the Bon Jovi concert :)

I guess everything will work out, but I’m quite keen on starting this new journey :)

So;
Tomorrow, I’m turning 21. And it’s under a month until I’ll get the keys to my student apartment in Oslo. The apartment looks like this

It’s stats:
* Rent: 3805NOK
* Deposit: 5000NOK
* Termination: 2 months
* Size: 17 m2
* Bath: Private
* Kitchen: Private
* Electricity: Included
* Internet: Yes
* Cable TV: Yes
* White goods: Yes
BUT; it’s not furnished. So I need to buy stuff myself. This has made me surf the ikea homepage almost every day :) I need some storage-things. And I think I’ve settled on a Billy bookshelf + a Benno cd tower in white.
Like half of this:

Billy+Benno shelfing

And I will definately buy some of those kassett storage units to keep my craft items in.
