Yay for cherry season!
Well, not really. Because I don’t like the taste of them, and I have to pick a lot for my parents. BUT they are so pretty and red! So after picking a whole bucket from our four cherry trees (we have probably 10 buckets left on the trees) I had to take some pictures. My mother will make jam with it, and in a week we will make cherry liqueur. The liqueur will take the most lovely red colour, and it’s beautiful in intricate flasks around Christmas.
Well, here are some photos to celebrate the lovely color of cherries!

Remember this post? I purchased a “laptop lunches” lunch box 49 days ago and today is the day it appeared in my mailbox. It took a while, but was worth it! I love it, and I can’t wait making nice lunches for myself when I start school in a month.
Since I didn’t want to wait a whole month to try it out, I made a quick lunch with items I found in our fridge, and ate it all. I’m very full now, because I’d just eaten breakfast an hour before.
Well, here’s the pictures!

Since I only have two days left to work, I got a gift today! I feel so lucky to have been working with such nice people, and getting to “know” a lot of friendly people, who are regular customers. I’ve been working in a grocery store, so all kinds of people frequent there. Some are there every day.
One man, says almost every time to me; “så du er på plass i dag og, morgenfrisk og klar!” which means something like “so you’re on duty today too, all awake and ready”. And when he said that today, I became sad because I probably won’t see him again after quitting. He reminds me a bit of my own grandfather
I don’t want to get all sentimental, but I AM a nostalgic person like that.
And my gift was these pretty design candle holder, by “hadeland glassverk” named “finn schjøll”
And the polka dotted table runner, plus candles and napkins!

A bit delayed post on the concert I attended the 18th of June, in Oslo. I also slept in the new apartment, for the first time!
And found the way from the apartment and to the “Ullevål Station” without a map (because I forgot it at home, after printing it out in the morning).
Since I’m too lazy to post every picture, I cheated and used fd’s flickr toys, and made this mosaic!

Yesterday it was the kickoff of the annual festival that takes place in Porsgrunn, Norway (my town) It’s a festival of performance arts, and is visited by people (and actors/actresses) from all over the world. It’s the one week in the year where the city is full of people, and not people who are heading towards the local mall. It’s the time of the year, when you see all the alternative people in the city, and it’s the start of the summer.
Each year, it starts off with the “brusteinsball”, which means something like “pavement stone ball”. A mix between the rough and poor, and with the glamorous and rich. This year it was “Grupo Puja” an Argentine/Spanish group that completed that opening with the act “K@osmos”. They’re 50 meters up in the sky, and moves weightlessly to powerful music. It was really pretty. I didn’t take many pictures, but I was a bit far away to get good pictures anyway.
(for more, go to www.pit.no. The page can be viewed in english also)
since my video on flickr didn’t work to embed here, I found a nice clip on youtube instead. This gives a good impression of how it was, just that they were high up in the night sky

I’m not moving until August, mostly because of my boyfriend who’s still living here, but my Dad and I went to Oslo again on Thursday the 12th to put up the things we had bought last time.
The place is just 183square feet (17m2), and that includes a bathroom, a kitchen and a small storage room. So it goes without saying that it’s not much room.
I was happy though, because with all the things put up, it looked much bigger than when it was empty. So here follows some pictures of the things:
Bed: Ikea; Sultan Svaneholm 90×200cm
Matress pad: Sultan Timan 90×200 cm
Expedit shelf with kassett storage, and a couple of Lekman boxes (not shown)
Sylling extra bed is also shown
And a corner of the desk, which is shown better below:
So this is Vika Amon 150×75cm, two Vika Curry legs, and a Vika Tore shelf unit.
In front of the window,so I can look out of it when eating or doing homework.
(I know I need to get a chair!)
Here you can see the kitchen part. Also the Benno bookshelf, with a phone in it
It’s not very big, but it works, and I have my own kitchen and bathroom. The thing I fear is that I’ll be all isolated, and that a shared kitchen would be better for me. But I’ll get what I can take
The place I’ll live is a nice place, with designed greenish areas around the housing units. I live in the 4th floor, which is good. I could choose between this and a couple on the 2nd floor, but they didn’t feel right.
I need a couple of more trips until I can live there, because I still have a lot of things here. All my clothes are still here (I need them here before I move!) etc. But in 4 days, my friend Sara and I are going to Oslo to watch Jon Bon Jovi at a concert. And we’re sleeping here. So we had to get it ready before that
More updates will definitely come later

I better blog a bit before I go to bed..
Today’s been nice. Was at my boyfriend’s place tonight, and since the weather still was lovely (it’s been super sunny for over a week now) we went out to Sottil again. It’s so pretty there! Stayed there for a while, but unfortunately it started to get cloudy, so I didn’t feel like jumping out in the water. Since it was still quite warm, we just sunbathed and relaxed for quite some time. We had the place all for ourselves, and that’s the great thing about it! I don’t like all those crowded beach places. I don’t like to show off my body (it’s not something to show off) so I tend to like those remote places better. PLUS; this has fresh water, which is so much better than the salty sea.
We saw dragonflies laying egg while flying in tandem. So cute little things. And lots of fish jumping in the water. Birds in the trees. So powerful and relaxing. But since I’m blogging from bed now, the computer is getting a bit too hot, and I have to go to bed. So I’ve added a photo from Sottil. And good night!

Okay, so I was at IKEA yesterday. First we drove to Bjølsen student housing, and got the keys. The apartment was smaller than I’d imagined, but it’ll be okay
Then we drove to IKEA and bought a LOT of things

Benno white cd shelf

expedit bookshelf + capita legs.
(I’m gonna flip this 90degrees)

lekman box x2 for the expedit

Sultan Svaneholm mattress

Sultan Timan over mattress

Sultann feet 20cm

Vika Amon 150×75cm

Vika Tore shelfing unit for one side of the table.

two of these Vika Curry legs, for the other side of the table

Sylling extra bed.

Fniss paper basket (just to have something, it cost next to nothing.

Fira shelfing thing
Jäll drying thing

2x this kassett magazine holder

kassett mini shelfing, one of each

kvot - thing.
I also bought a lot of small things, that I don’t bother putting up here, because it’s not really interesting AT ALL. Things like plastis ice cube trays, an egg divider thing, bread knife, dish towels, regular towels, whisks+++
This all cost me 6700NOK, which is $1300 or 840€
The bed was the most expensive thing, and was about half of the expenses itself. But a nice bed is important.
We didn’t get to do anything with the boxes after carrying them up to the apartment. Just drove home, because it was really late, and a working day today. This means we might have to go to Oslo again on Saturday to put things together. I was also stupid and dint’t take any photos. I’ll do that when we put things up. Now it’s just in boxes and plastic
