July 2007

Today I went to the city, as this is my first real day of vacation. First “hammondgården”, where they have the only hobby store in the town. And then I saw that they had a new scrapbooking store in the building. Wow, I used a bit more money today than what I was supposed to do, hah. Then I went to downtown, where I didn’t really buy anything. I don’t like that place very much. But what I had completely forgotten, was that I was out of this roller tape-thing. So I guess I’ll have to take a quick trip to clas ohlsson tomorrow :)

Later, I was at the Simpsons movie  again, hah. In Norwegian this time. I’ve never heard the simpsons dubbed, so I thought it would be a fun experience, plus I brought Renate & Pia with me. When we got home, homemade hamburgers and french fries was at the table. Luxury I say.

I just made some new pages in the Barcelona-photo album too. But I didn’t finish them completely. Still, I’ll try to make a page here with the pictures (taken with crappy lightning and cell phone cam, because I was lazy. I’ll take better pictures later if I have more time and is feeling more like it :)

I’m going to Thomas’ place soon, but Kristian was going there to see the “Jesus Camp” documentary, and I saw that yesterday so I’ll wait a bit. Holy crap that documentary was scary! They’re training up kids to be soldiers for christianity and the republican party. And the kids are filled with guilt for every “sinful” thought. “Let me say something about harry potter. He is a WORLOCK! And warlocks are EVIL!!!” and “I don’t like those ghost stories, you should be concentrating on good things and Jesus”. Telling the kids that this is a “sick old world” and “this is a war”.. What is going through those children ministers mind, I don’t know. But I sure as hell know I’m happy I’m not living in the USA..

Actually, I did make something today. A big A4 water colour painting. But it’s just splashy and earth colored and anyone could make something like it, so I’m not going to show it here. Not that proud over it, but I felt like painting something while listening to funk music :D And that’s pretty much all I’ve done today :)

But yesterday was busy. First I was at work from 10-18. Then I drove quickly home, where the dinner was served just as I came home (this wasn’t in my plan, I had planned to take a bath, then eat a little on my way out) which made me sit down and eat for a bit longer than I should have. But that chicken bali-thing is sooo good! I rushed up and into the bath tub (we don’t have a shower), where I also stayed for a bit too long. Therefore I had to blow dry my hair and put on makeup and talk to Sara in the phone almost at the same time, haha.

Because I had to pick up Thomas, Kristian and Jon Ivar to see THE SIMPSONS MOVIE! I made it in time luckily, and I don’t think they had to wait for me for too long. The movie was great too.

When the movie was over, I drove the boys home, then drove back to town to meet Sara. We were going to Melby’s party. Sara hadn’t been at his new place yet, so I had to show her the way. It’s a nice place, but too many guests that I didn’t know. Plus, I was meeting Thomas again later in the night, so I didn’t stay at Melby’s too long.

I made another perler bead-thing, since Thomas was out with friends, and I was slightly bored. It WAS going to be a pair, to be made into earrings for the other simspon-thing. But I’m going out of black beads (ordered more a few days ago) so it might just substitute the other pendant, and become a necklace.

I haven’t ironed it yet, I might wait until tomorrow, even if that’s risky. I don’t want to risk having the beads all over the place, just because of some unthoughtful movement with an arm or something. But we’ll see.

EDIT: I finished it anyway:

Worked from 09-17, came home, ate pizza, took a bath, and finished the “simpsons-pendant”. Only bad thing is that it didn’t came out as good as I’d hoped. I’ve made a couple of pendants like this before, but then they had double glass on them. Which resulted in two sides with pictures. They look good, but are somewhat scratchy for my neck, because of the metal tape who bends in the corners.

For this pendant, I only had one picture, that I’d taken from a magazine. So I put some thick paper on the back, then some tape and fabric (to make the back smooth). What happened then, was that the fabric got all fuzzy, and showed from the front, so I had to fix it with hot glue. And now it’s thick, and a little bit wrinkly from moisture. Oh, well. I guess I have to do with average this time :)

I am off to work. Some might not like to sit behind the counter at a food store, but I do! The people you get to meet are (mostly) nice, and I get to go out of the house. Plus I’m saving money for next year, when I’m going to Oslo to study.

On friday, I guess I’m going to the new simpsons movie, together with a lot of people. Atleast if Kristian is getting tickets for the premiere. Maybe we all will wait for later too. After friday, I have a one week “holiday”, which I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. I’m not sure what to do yet though..

So this is your ordinary and obligatory first post-post. It is needed to make sure how it looks. I don’t have much time until I need to go to bed, so I’m just going to test uploading a picture of my new earrings I just made, using perler beads :)
