sore throat

I’ve been munching on pastilles all day, because of a sore throat. I was told it made strange noises in the night, and when I woke up, I had trouble speaking. Luckily it got better during the day. So I’m hoping it will be perfectly fine tomorrow, when I go to work again. (won’t start until 11, so I have a long night’s sleep ahead of me!). The 11-19 shift is usually quite boring, but since Saturday it’s 17th of May (the national day) and we will be closed, I guess a LOT of people will shop for the weekend tomorrow. Which is good, because the day moves on so much faster then :)

I’m going to make a cake tomorrow too, when I get home. The ingredients are ready, and since it’s a so called “bløtkake” (soft cake) it will just be better by sitting in the fridge over night. It’s made of just a ready made bottom cut in three, whipped cream, bananas, raspberry jam and some chocolate shavings. Hopefully the cream won’t have a weird taste this year.

What I’ve done today isn’t much, but I went with some friends, and watched an episode of the Planet Earth documentary series. It’s so great, and when watched on Kristian’s giant TV, it’s even more awesome!

I really haven’t been thinking that much about the furniture etc lately, I haven’t got a mail back yet, and I’m trying to live a bit in the moment :) BUT; I bought a cute coffee set for just 50NOK ($10) the other day, at a thrift store. It was 5 pieces of each. I’ll post a photo some day :)

Well, it’s time for bed I guess. Later!

a bit tidier toom

I decided to finally do something about my room. Not that it’s really tidy at all now, just that I now know a little bit more what I have and where everything is. Had totally forgotten that I’d bought a 6-pack of large glasses, a year ago at Ikea (that’s when I was there last time) and also some oven forms. I tossed out a lot of things I REALLY don’t need, like a bunch of fabric scraps, which were too small to do anything with anyway, and just took up space. I need to do these things, I’m such a pack rat. I also got rid of a pile of posters from a “TOPP” magazine which I bought when I was younger. It was probably about 50 or so posters, with eminem, A1, backstreet boys +++ haha. It feels good to actually get rid of things.

Tomorrow, I have to get up early to drive my mom to work. So I’ll do the most out of the day, and drive over to the mall, buying some plastic folders and a ring folder, so I can store clip outs and patterns and such, which I really don’t have any space for. After that I’ll go to Fretex (salvation army used items store) and see if they have some things that I want. Maybe some pretty cups or something.

Hopefully I’ll get the measurements of the apartment tomorrow. That way I can decide if I can have the expedit shelf.

Before:

total mess

After:

bit less mess

Since yesterday’s last post, I found out that the kassette drawers and magazine holders fit perfectly into the expedit. And I found that if I get the expedit desk, it can be used as dining table, work table and craft table, with quick access to the craft items.

And if I get this, than I’m thinking I can maybe buy the Bestå book shelf in 60×192cm. That way I can use the interior things that go with it (the inreda system) and have book ends, the charging system, drawers with dividers ++

I’m still not sure anything will fit, but I’ve just sent a mail to the student housing landlords, to try and get some measurements.

But anyway:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Happy birthday to me!

more ikea

I keep searching the net for imspiration, and I found out that the Expedit bookshelf is awsome for storing records in. Too bad I don’t own any records :) but look at this: (foind on google images)

found on google

it’s perfect! Now I want to buy one for Thomas, haha. At least I have to show it to him :)

Bathroom ++

I’m thinking of having this Alve drawer unit in the bathroom, in the corner between the toilet and sink. But I’m not sure if it’s enough space. Then I could stored makeup, socks, underwear ++ in those drawers.

Another idea is this corner shelf unit for towels ++ This is almost 1000NOK cheaper than the drawer unit, so I might go for that. But that means I need to find somewhere else to keep the makeup, socks and underwear. And I don’t exactly have unlimited space to furnish :) I need to be smart.

the other

Alve

Here’s pictures of the two..

And I’m thinking of maybe getting a loft bed, if it’s tall enough under the roof. That way, I can have some sofa-thing underneath the bed. And some table I can use for both schoolwork and dining, along the window maybe. Plus some tablething in front of the sofa (I might even get a sofa bed. Or the “meldal” daybed.

We’ll see. It’s not easy finding out what to buy when you don’t even have the measurements of the rooms. And I know I have to find something on the 4th of June, because I’m going to Ikea with my dad then, after having recieved the keys. And then, the 18th, Sara and I will sleep there, after being at the Bon Jovi concert :)

I guess everything will work out, but I’m quite keen on starting this new journey :)

New post - finally

So;
Tomorrow, I’m turning 21. And it’s under a month until I’ll get the keys to my student apartment in Oslo. The apartment looks like this

It’s stats:
* Rent: 3805NOK
* Deposit: 5000NOK
* Termination: 2 months
* Size: 17 m2
* Bath: Private
* Kitchen: Private
* Electricity: Included
* Internet: Yes
* Cable TV: Yes
* White goods: Yes
BUT; it’s not furnished. So I need to buy stuff myself. This has made me surf the ikea homepage almost every day :) I need some storage-things. And I think I’ve settled on a Billy bookshelf + a Benno cd tower in white.
Like half of this:

Billy+Benno shelfing

And I will definately buy some of those kassett storage units to keep my craft items in.

time to update

yeah, I guess it’s time to update again :)

And I do this by saying;

YAY! I won a price on the m00-egg hunting game! :D I was one of the two who found egg nr 4, wow :D If only I would have gotten it first, I’d probably have gotten a better price, but one year (more) of pro-flickr account is great! So now I have pro flickr until november 2009! yay :D

bath

010/366

Fun with water, after being at gym doing aerobics. It’s nice to get moving actually. Who’d thought I would think that, after being such a lazy ass all my life. And hated all the gym-people. I must say I still have some issues about those people doing the strength machines all day, and I don’t like people with large muscles. But I would like to tone my body (a lot) so that’s my plan. Plus, I think getting exercise will help me feel more energetic. And it helps for my kapha dosha also, so yeah.
